Feb. 1 marked the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, a night filled with many performances from well-known artists such as Lady Gaga, Post Malone, and Justin Bieber. Here’s a list of my personal top five performances.

5- Alex Warren
Alex Warren took the Grammy stage for the first time with his hit track “Ordinary.” Despite experiencing technical issues with his earpiece, Warren powered through and delivered a beautiful performance. His voice has a soothing sound that had me captured the second I heard it.

4- Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars debuted a performance of his new song, “I Just Might.” Mars had just announced a tour just a couple of weeks before the Grammys. His smooth stage presence, paired with outstanding vocals, created a memorable moment for the evening. Although some critics felt like he lacked effort in his performance, I think it was strong and soulful.

3- Pharrell Williams, Clipse, Pusha T
Pharrell Williams joined Clipse and Pusha T to perform their song “So Far Ahead.” The performance felt nostalgic highlighting hip-hop’s history and influence. The choir behind them was incredible and added more energy to their set. What caught my attention was the lighting, when each artist would sing, the lighting would change from white to red.

2- Tyler, The Creator
It has been six years since Tyler The Creator played at the Grammys. He performed two songs, “Thought I Was Dead” and “Sugar on My Tongue,” which were split into two sets. He started as the character, St. Chroma, which fans knew as one of his alter egos. The performance for this set was dark and theatrical, which ultimately shows Tyler’s ability to blend storytelling with his music.

1- Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter performed her hit song, “Manchild,” which received four Grammy nominations. The performance opened up with an airport-themed set, and Carpenter’s energy had the audience on their feet and dancing in an instant. The entire performance was vibrant, and I think her passion for what she does brought her set together.
