Echo 2024 was a night to remember. Students came together in anticipation for the performances and entertainment at this year’s rally, as athletes, cheerleaders, dancers and band members got to shine onstage.
Echo offers the chance to hype up school spirit, especially for the football players so they can be pumped for their upcoming rival game, Kings of Cameron. Football player Brian Evans (11) reflected on representing the football team at the rally.
“It felt pretty good being on stage, a little nerve racking but my favorite part was the energy from the crowd,” Evans said.
Julian Berum (11), color guard member, attended in hopes of experiencing another year of South Hills’ rallies.
“It was fun, the DJ was good and there was a good vibe from everyone,” Berum said.
Many students crowded the stage in anticipation of more dances and performances. Cheerleader, Natalie Osiorno (11), who performed a cheer dance onstage reminisced on the moment.
“It was really fun, I loved being onstage, and I feel like it was something really special to me,” Osiornio said.
The SHHS flag football team also hyped up the crowd, which team captain, Haley Ramos (10) enjoyed.
“It was cool we were on stage and you could see all the people and friends watching and cheering for you,” Ramos said.
All in all, many felt this rally really brought up the school’s spirit for Kings of Cameron and could help bring back the crown back to South Hills.
“I loved Echo, it was something that kinda brought us together and just let us have a good time before the game,” junior Camila Ramero said.
